Brazil.
Activity Level: 1

No particular physical activity is involved other than town/city walks and short walks to dinners and sites of interest, some of which are large.

Tour Style: Cultural

These three- and four-star hotel-based, "soft adventure" trips concentrate on the culture, history, and natural attributes of our destination. Though there are no strenuous activities built into these tours, you need to be prepared for some full days with some early starts, plenty of walking on uneven surfaces through villages, cities and archaeological sites, and not a lot of "down time." Independence, reasonable fitness, and an ability to be steady on one's feet are critical in order for you to get the most out of these programs.

Tour Leaders for Brazil Tours
Our Brazil tours let you experience the country’s dazzling cities, picture-postcard scenery and array of wildlife. Groups have a maximum of 18 participants, helping you enjoy a more relaxed travel experience. Some of our tour leaders who have led these tours.
Chris Tripodi Chris travels because it is the most interesting thing he can think of doing between meals. Anyone can buy a plane ticket, but helping a country come alive through its people, sights, culture, cuisine and customs is what Adventures Abroad is all about. Chris enjoys the inevitable challenges, the unforgettable moments, the warm people, the stories shared, the memories made, and every single morsel of each tour. Read More
Jonathan Hodgson Jonathan has lived much of his life dedicated to the idea that he would rather have a wealth of experiences than a wealth of riches. Having taken up a nomadic lifestyle shortly after finishing his undergraduate degree, he has been on the move on and off over the last 25+ years. The wanderlust has taken him to basing himself in places such as Scotland, Australia and Uzbekistan, and to visiting many more locations around our planet. Now (sort of) settled in Vancouver with his wonderful (and patient) family, he still loves the idea of having the world as his office and always enjoys trying to capture the essence of the locations he travels and tours in with his photography. Martin Charlton For as long as I can remember I have always had a deep-rooted need to travel and discover new places. Today I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent almost three decades researching, organizing and leading tours worldwide. Read More
Victor Romagnoli I love the excitement of getting up each morning on a tour and not knowing exactly how a day will unfold. It keeps me on my toes so to speak, and adds a breath of excitement to each day on tour. With almost 30 years of tour leading under my belt, I thank all of you for being a part of this exciting journey. Read More

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
ASK A QUESTION
01. Do you need a visa to travel to Brazil?
Citizens from the US, Canada and Australia require a visa to travel to Brazil, but those from the UK, New Zealand, Germany and France do not. You can find out more by consulting with the Brazilian embassy or consulate in your home country.
02. Is Brazil safe?
While not entirely deserved, Brazil does have a reputation for being a dangerous place to travel. In reality, if you take sensible precautions it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be the victim of serious crime. One of the main issues to be aware of is assaltos (hold-ups). Generally, these happen at night in major cities, and usually in quiet backstreets, so be sure to keep to well-lit and busy areas. When possible, take a taxi rather than walking. It’s best not to carry valuables around with you, and only take out as much money as you need. If you are unfortunate enough to be the victim of a hold-up, hand over your possessions and do not put up a resistance.
03. When is the best time to visit Brazil
Due to Brazil’s immense size, the climate can vary significantly between regions. The Amazon region has a rainy and dry season, while the south of Brazil experiences extreme seasonal changes and cooler temperatures in winter (June-September). The hot and humid summer months between December and February are perfect for enjoying Brazil’s coastal cities and beaches. The best time for wildlife-watching in the Pantanal is between July-October, when the rainfall is at its lowest and animals congregate around shrinking watering holes.
