Have you ever adventured to the same place twice? Dale of the Maritime Explorer has. However, this time he is joined by our beloved Victor for a journey in Costa Rica's most famous national park. Read on to find out what they got up to.
I first visited Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica in 2018 and was blown away by its beauty and birdlife which I described in this post. I have returned early in 2020 on the Central America trip led by Victor Romagnoli for Adventures Abroad the same Canadian company I traveled with on the first visit. At first I was simply going to do an update on the original post, but this visit included a number of new adventures as well as a repeat of the highlights of the first. Please join our Adventures Abroad group in exploring this magnificent area of Costa Rica.
San Jose Costa Rica – The Way & the Why
Recapping the start to our Costa Rica tour, we are sharing the words and thoughts of Dale The Maritime Explorer about why you should put Costa Rica on your travel wish list.
(and making sure a song gets stuck in your head) Dionne Warwick famously asked “Do you know the way to San Jose?” in her 1968 hit song lamenting the insanity of Los Angeles and longing for the breathing space of San Jose, California. Fast forward some fifty plus years and I doubt that anyone would consider that apparently once idyllic small city to be a place they would go to get away from it all. As the centre of Silicon Valley it’s now the tenth largest city in the U.S. and totally unaffordable to all but the highest paid hi tech execs. But there’s another San Jose and while it’s not on most people’s radar as a tourist destination, it does have a some good qualities that merit finding your way there. Here’s why.
Guanajuato Mexico - It May Be Its Most Magical City
If a trip is best measured in memories, well our Central Mexico tours produce many. In his 18th instalment from one of our tours, Dale of The Maritime Explorer shares why he loves this region just so much.
This is my eighteenth post from last year’s inaugural Central Mexico with Victor Romagnali offered by Canadian travel company Adventures Abroad. It was one of the best overall trips Alison and I have ever been on and traveling with Victor always guarantees a great cultural, historical and gustatory experience.
Michoacan Mexico - Touring Morelia, Tzintzuntzan & Patzcuaro
We're always so happy to present an authentic take on our tours. Today we feature Dale of the Maritime Explorer and his wise words and wonderful photos from our Mexican Day of the Dead tour.
We are coming to the end of the second week of what has so far been an amazing historical, cultural and gastronomical tour through central Mexico with Adventures Abroad’s veteran guide Victor Romagnoli. Today we left the city of Guanajuato which I described in my last post as the most unexpected and pleasant surprise of the trip.
Okavango Delta Botswana Tour - The Safari of a Lifetime!
An African safari seems to be an ultimate bucket list item and the hardest question is which region to go experience next. Luckily, Dale of The Maritime Explorer is able to offer us his take on a prime Botswana safari tour.
Up until about twenty years ago I had never heard of the Okavango delta in northwestern Botswana, but once I learned that it was a truly unique place on earth I knew I had to go there. Recently Alison and I got to fulfill that dream on a solo trip planned just for us by Canadian tour company Adventures Abroad.
San Miguel de Allende - Meeting Old Friends In Mexico's Great Cultural City
Oh, the stories we collect while travelling. Some trips prove to create more tales than others, and we are thrilled to present another post from Dale of The Maritime Explorer of his trip to Mexico with us last year.
This is my seventeenth post on last year’s Adventures Abroad tour of Central Mexico with ace guide Victor Romagnoli and although it is getting near the end, there are still a number of truly magical places to visit. In this post I’ll feature the small city of San Miguel de Allende.
